Chinoiserie double-bodied trumeau, 19th century









Dutch chinoiserie-lacquered double-bodied trumeau. Large double-bodied trumeau in the typical form of Dutch manufacture. Lower part divided into 4 wavy drawers, lion feet and bronze fittings. Single-door glass riser surmounted by a shaped and inlaid hat. The cabinet is entirely decorated in ebonised Chinese lacquer with hand-painted golden decorations in relief typical of oriental art. The production of this elegant piece of furniture can be dated to the first half of the 19th century. Elegant and highly decorative, this piece of furniture is ideal for giving a touch of the Orient to one's surroundings. The piece of furniture is in excellent condition, showing no structural defects, but may have slight and inevitable flaws in the lacquering.
