Pair of marble bas-reliefs, 19th century

These sculptures represent an elegant testimony of 19th century art, with their delicate classical style and executive refinement. The two bas-reliefs show scenes of play between children, a recurring theme that expresses vitality and light-heartedness. The choice of white marble gives purity and brightness to the works, while the contrast with the ocher velvet and the golden frames enriches their aesthetic appeal. Despite the lack of a child's foot in one of the bas-reliefs (see photo details), the whole maintains a notable artistic value, enhanced by the care taken in the design of the frames which harmoniously complete the presentation. These elements make the two sculptural bas-reliefs perfectly adaptable to various environments, adding a touch of timeless nobility and grace. One of the two bas-reliefs has a signature engraved on the side, but the artist is not recognisable.
