Description: Neapolitan Smith console in mahogany feather with maple inlay grafts. The marble top is placed on an inlaid underground band with reasons for racemes and griffins and is in turn supported by four feet in Balaustra having a neo -Gothic form typical of the period of belonging. In correspondence with the four columns there are bearing feet dominated by the same inlay reported in the underground band. George Smith: owner of a large ebanisterial laboratory in London and active between 1804 and 1828, famous for having released an engravings album entitled "A Collection of Designs for Household Furniture" in 1808, some scholars advance the hypothesis that the Neapolitan "Smith" furniture were inspired by George Smith's designs.
