Wonderful landscape oil painting on canvas by the French master Leon Legat. The depiction and technique is typical of Leon Legat. The landscape depicts a peasant family harvesting fruit from a large tree that is shaken with a stick by the head of the family. In the background on the right in front of it is a typical rural peasant house, children of working age can also be seen with large baskets full of fruit. In the background on the left is another rural house and on the right a manor house. In the left foreground is the mother looking after the two younger children. Epoch between the first and second half of the 19th century. It bears the signature Leon in the bottom right-hand corner. In perfect condition, not in need of restoration, but of a light cleaning, as shown in the picture.
The painting is sold with the elaborate gold-leaf frame from the photo. Dimensions with frame height 74 cm, width 84 cm; canvas only height 50 cm, width 60 cm.
