Toio red adjustable floor lamp by Fratelli Castiglioni for Flos, 1960s

Floor fixture with indirect light. Sheared and bent steel base and steel profile frame, both liquid-painted. Nickel-plated brass hexagonal section stem. Telescopic movement of the rod allows the height of the fixture to be adjusted. Achille Castiglioni (1918 - 2002) and Pier Giacomo (1913 - 1968) were born in Milan where they began their professional activity, giving life to a design activity entirely characterized by the search for "new" forms, techniques and materials, tending toward the realization of an "integral" design process. Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni are among the founders of the Industrial Design Association. Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni began their collaboration with Zanotta in 1964. FLOS S.p.A. (from Latin fiore) is an Italian company founded in Merano, Italy, in 1962 and specializing in lighting systems.
