4 Eros chairs by Philippe Starck for Kartell, 1990s

Designed by Philippe Starck in 1995 for Kartell, Eros is an enveloping chair with an organic shape, characterised by a refined combination of finishes and a skilful use of materials and colours, a combination of lightness, elegance and comfort, of colour and transparency. Suitable for both the home and the office, as a representative chair for the meeting room or waiting areas. Philippe Starck (born 18 January 1949 in Paris) is a French architect and designer. He began his career with the production of inflatable furniture in 1968 and subsequently received major commissions. In 1974 he settled in the USA and returned to Paris two years later. He founded the company Starck Product (1979) to market his previous creations. Particularly famous is the Juicy Salif juicer, designed in 1990 for Alessi and which has become a 'cult object'. He was a professor at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs.
