Mixed media painting on canvas entitled "The Journey" made by Massimo D'Orta in 2011. D'Orta was born in 1950 in Naples, the city where he still lives and works. He has been producing continuously for about thirty-five years but has rarely exhibited, as if his vision of making was similar to that of the Paleolithic painter who made his graffiti in the darkest part of the cave not for an aesthetic purpose but to satisfy a psychic need, to soothe his own fears and anxieties. The work seems to hide an enigmatic ancestral and primitive message that requires a strenuous but compelling journey into the human psyche to grasp the essential aspects and innermost meanings of modern man. A modern wooden frame is available upon request. Size without the frame: 60 x 120 cm.
