Circular travertine coffee table with square base by Claude Berraldacci, 1990s

Travertine coffee table. A thick circular top and a square leg with four sides with rounded edges. This coffee table comes directly from the designer Claude Berraldacci. They were designed in the 1990s. The brand was called 'La Pierre Haute Couture'. The stone is the purest of existing travertine. It comes from the quarry in Tivoli, near Rome, from which the Vatican buildings, the Colosseum and the Trevi fountain were extracted. Travertine from this region is very pure, with few veins and a very light colour. The stone is processed with a great deal of know-how, resulting in a 'softened travertine': natural and matt appearance, soft to the touch. This processing brings out the mineral texture and unique colour.
