Continuum armchair by Gio Ponti for Bonacina, 1963

The Continuum armchair by Bonacina 1889 bears a highly prestigious signature, that of the great 'noble father' of Italian design, Gio Ponti. The Continuum armchair was created in 1969 for a project that Ponti would not later realise, that of a circular villa for Daniel Koo, in whose Palladian forms nature and life would merge. Hence the use of a living, natural material such as reed and the choice for the Continuum armchair of curved, organic forms, capable of accommodating the body and supporting it in its folds. The armchair, original of the period, is in excellent condition.
