Arcona two-seater sofa and pair of armchairs by Otto Zapf for Art Collection, 1980s. The thick black leather is in very good condition with minimal signs of wear. The back and seat cushions, as well as the leather covering of the armrests, are fixed with a zip system and can be easily removed. Seating comfort is impeccable in both the sofa and armchairs. Otto Zapf founded the company Vitsoe+Zapf together with Niels Vitsoe in 1958 and collaborated with Dieter Rams. In 1969 Otto Zapf left the joint company and in 1986 designed the Arcona line for Art Collection. Zapf worked as a designer for Knoll, Art Collection, B&B Italia, etc. Art Collection was founded in Aahlen in 1946 and in the renamed Dreipunkt in the 1960s. From 1976 the furniture was again offered under Art Collection with designs by first-rate designers. The sofa is 73 cm high, 154 cm wide and 84 cm deep. The armchairs are 73 cm high, 86 cm wide and 84 cm deep. The seat of all three pieces is 41 cm high and 54 cm deep.
