Giuseppe Gheduzzi, Landscape, oil on panel, early 20th century










Alpine landscape in oil on panel by the painter Giuseppe Gheduzzi. Stunning mountain landscape depicting a peasant woman in front of a small mountain church. In the background of the little church are summery rocky mountains and a cloudy sky lit by the sun. The painting is signed in the lower right-hand corner and is in excellent condition including the frame. The author Giuseppe Gheduzzi was born in Crespellano (BO) on 12 May 1889. The son of the painter Ugo, from whom he learnt, like his brothers Cesare, Mario and Augusto, the first rudiments of art. He refined his training in Turin at the Accademia Albertina as a pupil of Andrea Marchisio and Paolo Gaidano. His genre scenes and paintings depicting interiors of craftsmen's workshops, antique dealers and stables are particularly appreciated by the public and critics. Height 50 cm; width 60 cm.
