Teak chest of drawers by Johannes Sorth for Nexo, 1960s

Sold

Teak chest of drawers by Johannes Sorth for Nexo (Denmark), 1960s. It is equipped with six large drawers with half-almond handles in solid teak; the upper one is lockable (key original and included). The superb joinery and detailing, visible in the finely selected veneer with vibrant wood grain, showcases the mastery of mid-century Danish craftsmanship. The peculiarity of this piece of furniture is the different heights of the drawers: the first one at the top measures 8 cm high, the others 11 cm. This piece was designed and executed with precision. The tapered legs in solid teak enhance its Scandinavian origin; they are detachable for easier transportation. The chest of drawers has been carefully checked: all drawers are clean and work smoothly; all wood has been cleaned and renewed with Danish oil. Small natural signs of use are left which do not ruin the aesthetics of the furniture and only confirm its originality. It is in fantastic vintage condition with very light traces of use. Ground clearance: 25 cm.
