French polychrome majolica planter, 18th century















Four polychrome majolica planters, 18th-century. Entirely hand-painted, these planters were made in France, in the towns of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and Allemagne-en-Provence; both are known to have been among the most famous French pottery centers. Four pieces available, price each (contact the seller to choose the one you want). No. 1 is by Moustier, Feraud manufacture, c. 1780-1790. It is 15.3 cm high, 24.5 cm wide and 13.1 cm deep. No. 2 is of Allemagne manufacture, c. 1780. It is 18.5 cm high, 24 cm wide, and 14.5 cm deep. No. 3 is probably Moustier, third quarter of the 1700s. It is 17 cm high, 21.5 cm wide and 10 cm deep. No. 4 is from Moustierers, mid-18th century. It is 13.5 cm high, 20 cm wide, and 13 cm deep. Presence of chips and imperfections consistent with age.
