Tadao Double Bed by Vico Magistretti for Flou, Italy, 1993

Double bed with a Japanese name and inspiration in which the simple designer provides the mattress support surface and the backrest made of wooden slats. These constitute the "net" of the mattress, rise without interruption until they determine the headboard and are connected to each other by a nylon grosgrain ribbon. The slats are made of plywood, full slab, and are load-bearing. Lightweight but solid and transportable thanks to the rear wheels. Tadao is a refined and essential bed thanks to the mattress support base, made up of load-bearing slats that rise without interruption to form the headboard. Shown here in coffee oak finish. Designed by Vico Magistretti and produced by Flou. Technical data: Steel (structure) and beech plywood (slats) with coffee oak finishh.
