Sculptural glass table by Luigi Massoni for Gallotti & Radice, 1980s

Contemporary design glass dining table from the 1980s by Luigi Massoni for Gallotti & Radice. The collaboration between Gallotti & Radice and architect Luigi Massoni began in 1969, when the latter contacted the furniture brand asking for a customised table to be used for a Christmas display at the 'Mobilia' showroom in Milan. Later, in 1971, he designed the Adam table, which at the time of its launch was the first dining table made entirely of glass. The collaboration continued and ten years later, in 1981, the current dining table was born. Made according to an interesting concept of thick glass plates glued together, the piece is extremely sculptural and has an exceptional presence. The glass blades create amazing plays of light and the glued connections are absolutely invisible. The piece is in excellent condition overall, with only a few signs of time that in no way detract from the overall appearance of the table.
