Playing putti with game, oil painting on canvas, second half of the 17th century

Antique painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting an allegorical subject of the Rudolfine school, playing cherubs with game; of excellent painterly hand. The Rudolfine School, also known as the Prague School, refers to that group of artists working at the court of Rudolf II of Habsburg. Note the quality in the realisation of the complexion, the still life and the masterful use of the chiaroscuro technique to create depth and volume in the subjects. A painting that develops horizontally, of beautiful size and pleasant decoration. Work that has been restretched and has undergone conservative restoration with frame replacement and colour restoration in some places (see photo). Painting part of a pendant (see photo and ask for the price of the pair, if available). Overall in good condition. Size without frame: 63.5 x 112.5 cm.
