Table lamp mod. Tikal 1555 by Pier Giuseppe Ramella for Arteluce, 1980s. The name and shape recall the Mayan culture. It features a rotating lacquered metal base on which rests a blue glass with one side polished and one side satin-finished; the lampshade is composed of two plastic half-spheres, one side white and one side gray. The 360-degree rotating base allows the lamp to be positioned according to the type of light you want to have. On one side the light is covered by the shade and radially conveyed over the glass diffusing to the other, on the other side the light illuminates the shade creating a central luminous sphere. Designed in the 1980s, the lamp has its original label and is in perfect condition with no defects. Arteluce was founded in 1939 by Gino Sarfatti and other Milanese entrepreneurs. Throughout its history it has collaborated with big names in design and has designed the lighting of several ships, museums and even the entire lighting of the Teatro Regio in Turin in collaboration with Carlo Mollino.
