Pair of red velvet club chairs by Otto Schulz, 1950s

One of the most sought-after models by German-Swedish designer Otto Schulz for Jio Möbler, 1950s. The armchairs are in beautiful vintage condition in quality red velvet fabric. The upholstery was replaced in the 1970s and chemically cleaned. The entire frame is strong, almost flawless. Slight patina on the legs. The dimensions of the armchairs are ideal, pretty and super comfortable! Designed in the early phase of what we now know as mid-century modern, the first 'Schulz' chairs were produced by Otto Schulz's legendary company, BOET in Gothenburg. In 1941, production was transferred to the new Jio Möbler factory in Jönköping, from which the model took its name. H 72 cm x W 63 cm x D 64 cm, seat height 40 cm.
