Pair of Eastside armchairs by Ettore Sottsass Jr. for Knoll, 1984. Model designed in 1983. These armchairs are from a 1984 production, they are 40 years old worn very well. Very good condition considering their age; they have minimal signs of use, a few light haloes, some wear spots on the fabric, minimal lint. Steel frame and cold-formed polyurethane foam, light gray upholstery fabric, blue cushion, beige-havana cylindrical headrest. Gray lacquered steel base with translucent plastic finials. The model is the work of famous designer-architect Ettore Sottsass Jr (1917-2007). The Centre Pompidou dedicated an exhibition to him in 2021; he is the embodiment of postmodernism, the founder of the influential and multifaceted Memphis group; the Eastside cubic armchair is a perfect example. Seat height: 41 cm.
